The right time of year for Bamboo

I saw this quote somewhere the other day. It’s Charles Dickens from Great Expectations, and it’s so perfect.

“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.”

I thought of it when I was in the car. The window was open, I was queuing and the heat from the sun was real – for all of 5 minutes. It was such a brief tonic from the cold and the wet, which returned moments later.

I think we’re ready for proper Spring now, aren’t we? We need sandwiches outside in the park and to not have to wear a big coat. (Currently wearing coat indoors as I write to you.)
